Significance of Fasting in Ramadan

Ramadan fasting is one of the fundamental five pillars of Islam. The main purpose of Ramadan fasting is to please Allah SWT and observe sawm while showing gratitude to the Lord for the blessed month which is full of mercy and blessings. There are different ayats in the Quran about ramadan. In one of the ayats Allah says’’

[ “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.” ]

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:183)

Ramadan fasting teaches us the lesson of self-discipline and faith-building. If we keep praying and reciting the Holy Quran while fasting in Ramadan, we can get closer to Allah SWT and enter Jannah. For enhanced blessings  recite Surah Yaseen after or before fajr prayer.
